Reliability Trial Course Details
60km (37.5miles) Club's 60th Anniversary Ride (devised October 2013)
START Crossgates bus shelter (opposite Community Centre). The route takes you along Cayton Low Road to Station Road, Cayton, where right across the Carrs to Folkton. (2 miles). At Folkton turn left to Muston on the A1039, (4.5m) where right to Hunmanby (Hunmanby Street/High Lane) (7.4m) and up past the golf range/sports centre (Hall Park Road) to the top crossroads. (9.5m)
Right towards Wold Newton (ignoring the lanes on the left to Burton Fleming until you reach the T junction on the bend, (12.8m) where take a left back to Burton Fleming. (14.4m)
After the village hall in Burton Fleming take a right on Burton Fleming Road to Rudston, where right and left over B1253, (17.2m) bearing left again in half a mile on Burton Agnes Balk towards Burton Agnes. (20.8m)
Take a left and right (with care), effectively crossing over the A614 on to Station Road, becoming Moor Lane, direction SE to Gransmoor. (23.3m)
Take a right at Kelk Lane, cutting through to Main Street, Kelk, where you take a right again. (24.8m)
Now you are travelling back in a NW direction for a time, until you traverse the level crossing and take a right (26.3m - with care, on a bend) to cut through on Station Road to Harpham. (27.2m)
Go left on to Sykes Balk where you will come to the crossroads over the main A614 in less than a mile - cross straight over with care on to Harpham Lane. (28.0m)
This leads to Kilham village where right into Burton Road. (29.7m)
After the small cemetery on the right, take the right hand lane (30m - Kilham Lane) back to Rudston. (32.6m)
At the Rudston T junction (B1253), go right then left back on to Burton Fleming Road.
After about 1.5 miles take a right into Argam Lane (34.1m) heading towards Bartindale Road crossroads. (35.5m)
Take a left to South Street, Burton Fleming where right on to Front Street at the Burton Arms pub crossroads. (37.4m)
A short distance on the right opposite the duck pond, you will see Aunt Sal's cafe/farm shop where you will end the measured route and enjoy a well deserved cuppa.**Sadly, this cafe is now closed but the route is still recorded here for interest.

START: Crossgates bus shelter. The route takes you along Cayton Low Road to Station Road, Cayton, where right across the Carrs to Folkton.

Right to Wold Newton, Foxholes, cross the main B1248 with care (staggered crossroads, left/right, effectively straight on) to Butterwick, Weaverthorpe, Helperthorpe. Just after Helperthorpe turn left (Croome Dale Lane – not signposted – 20.6 miles), over the crossroads to Sledmere (24.15m). Turn left to Garton on the Wolds to A166 (28.4m). Turn left, in 0.4 of a mile turn right to Kirkburn & A614 (31.36m). Turn right on A614 and within 0.3m turn left to Southburn (32.15), turning left in half a mile to follow the lane to the crossroads with the A164 (main Driffield-Beverley road) – 34.6m.
Straight over to Hutton Cranswick and turn left at top of hill T-junction to go over the level crossing and left at next T-junction to Skerne. (37.35m). Turn right in Skerne village to Wansford (38.75m), Left to mini roundabout, where right through Nafferton village to roundabout on A614 (41.45m).
Right on A614 for approximately 0.75m. Turn left to Ruston Parva (42.31m) to Kilham (44.7m). Turn right at T-junction through the village, past the church on left and sharp right bend, turning left at next T-junction to Rudston. Within half a mile turn right (past the cemetery) to Rudston, T-junction with B1253 opposite the pub (47.95m).
Turn right then left towards Burton Fleming on Burton Fleming Road, to FINISH at entrance to Eastfield Farm (about half a mile before Burton Fleming village). 50 miles.

Proceed on A170 through Ayton, Brompton and Snainton, taking the B1258 towards Yedingham and Knapton. At the junction with the A64 turn right to Rillington, left to Scagglethorpe to Settrington. Take a left to climb up Settrington Beacon on the High Mowthorpe road that leads to West Lutton (taking another left at the end of this road into West Lutton). Continue along Wolds valley through Weaverthorpe to Foxholes continuing to Wold Newton via a staggered left-right crossroads over the B1249. Continue to Burton Fleming and towards Grindale, taking a left into Bartindale Road to Hunmanby. Straight across the junction at the top of the hill into Hunmanby. Right-left staggered junction to Muston then left on A1039 to Folkton, turning right to go across the Folkton-Cayton Carrs. Return to Crossgates bus shelter via Main Street, Cayton and Cayton Low Road (B1261).

Right-left (mini roundabout junction) past sports centre to top crossroads where straight across into Bartindale Road. At the bottom crossroads take a right turn to Burton Fleming/Wold Newton/Foxholes where left-right across staggered junction with B1249. Continue westwards along Wolds valley through Weaverthorpe to West Lutton. Leaving the village turn right to High Mowthorpe road to Settrington. CARE when descending Settrington Beacon to junction, where right and right again within one mile to Scagglethorpe joining A64 by turning right with care. Through Rillington to take a left onto the B1258 through Yedingham to Snainton. Right at junction to join A170 through Snainton/Brompton/Ayton to finish at Crossgates bus shelter.

Straight across at the crossroads taking a right hand lane to Thwing. Bear right into Thwing, taking first left and immediate right to Octon, bear left then right joining the B1253 to Sledmere. Right into Sledmere itself then 2nd right to Kirby Grindalythe where left to Duggleby. Bear left just as entering Duggleby and over crossroads to Wharram-le-Street and on at crossroads with B1248 to Birdsall. Left to Burythorpe, turn right and proceed to Norton/Malton, taking a right at the main traffic lights at Yorkshire Tea Rooms to Old Malton B1248. Straight ahead at roundabout over A64 onto A169 direction Pickering. Right at Low Marishes to Yedingham, left to Snainton. Right at junction joining A170 through Snainton/Brompton/Ayton to finish at Crossgates bus shelter.
