Brompton Xmas 10m TT 13/12/2009
9 riders out today for the Xmas 10m TT at Brompton, 8 from SPCC & 1 from BCC. 8 °C and the wind from the NE, this was very little though. A rain shower before the start looked to be set in but stopped in time for the race and I think everyone got round without it raining again. Generally the weather for this time of year was much better than average, just wet roads from the rain before the start flicking up and making your feet cold and wet.

Interclub 10m TT 11th Oct 2009
Weather wise the day started out OK, a little chilly at about 12-13*C. with a stiff breeze blowing from the NW. This made arm/leg warmers the order of the day to keep warm but at least the roads were dry and it was sunny. (Could have been much worse at this time of year)
However the weather gods were against us all and almost to the minute as the first man set off it started raining. This made for a cold and wet ride for everyone and a slippery road surface to boot with quite a bit of mud around the course from the farmers fields. All corner’s were taken very slowly and luckily no one had any issues.
32 riders made it out today with good prizes for everyone taking part.

SPCC Hackness Hill Climb 4/10/09
A clear morning, if a little cold early on but in the sunshine it was OK. The strong winds from Saturday had subsided but left a lot of debris (twigs/branches & leafs) on the course which had to be careful negotiated.

Brompton 10m TT 11/8/09
Warm evening but stiff westerly wind again to annoy the riders on their way back from Seamer Was fast going out though.
15 riders for this event which shows maybe the flat/shorter events are more to peoples liking.
Lewis & Donna got new 10m Pb's from looking back at the records, Donna -39secs and Lewis -31secs. These are then also course Pb's for them both.
Keith had a front punchure near the end of his ride, Tony made it round without one this time.

Come & Try It event 5 of 5m 16/7/09
A fantastic turn-out of 20 riders comprised the final event in the series at Scalby. Looking at today's awful weather, we were so lucky to stay dry. There were again a few new faces and I believe everyone who stayed at SRUFC's brilliant HQ facilities for the prize presentation afterwards, thoroughly enjoyed themselves.
Results:-
The winner on points in this last time trial (based on age categories) was Lewis Scott (13) receiving another gold medal for his excellent time of 14:59, which was actually 3rd best on the night. The silver went to Bronwen Owen (12) thanks to her brilliant 4th place performance of 15:50. The bronze to Omid Ibrahim (15), who actually recorded the second best time on the night of 14:46. These three were some of the 8 riders to achieve personal best times. Visitor Simon Miller (16) did a fantastic performance of 14:14 to set the best time and yet another course record for this 5 miles circuit. Michael Thompson achieved 17:08 for 5th, taking a huge amount off his PB. Dan Elliott did 17:20 (PB), Nathan Hone was 7th in 17:50, 8th Matthew Graves 18:54 (PB), new rider Conor Fishburn 9th in 18:56 and 10th Harry Brown in 18:57. Will Cartwright and Kevin Hone were the other two who beat their best times, 19:18 and 20:24 respectively.
Back at the Silver Royd HQ, and after final calculations, the overall 5x5m series winner was announced as Lewis Scott with 74 points, who received the 5x5m trophy from the donors Dave and Angela Wilson, to the applause of the crowd of about fifty supporters and competitors. Second place in the series was Omid Ibrahim with 65 points and third Michael Thompson (13) with 48 points.
Smiling faces departed the Rugby Club just before dark, with riders utilising the contents of their goody bags; their bikes sporting their newly acquired Knog Frog lights and fluorescent bands.
The additional juvenile results: Alistair Hutchinson 19:30, Benji Scott 19:49 and William Joyce 20:08, who won the lanterne rouge prize, kindly donated by Chris Goode. Adult riders were Greg Anderson 15:50, Neil Bridgewood 16:07, Terry Lynch 16:08, Donna Prendergast 16:24 and Tony Graves 16:44.

Excellent turn-out of 18 riders for event 3 of 5. Four non-juvenile this time but it was good to see some first-timers again giving it a go

The conditions were quite sunny and not too cold but very stiff and blustery wind from the SW made this the hardest TT so far with only 3 PB's going tonight.

14 Deg.C again, and Cold NE wind AGAIN 12mph ish. This made for an easier ride than the first two which were strong westerly wind days. Also started drizzling at the end but not much. 12 riders faced timekeeper Chris Goode and a few Pb's went as well, H/cap cup points no doubt spurring people to faster times.

Ken/Len 10m TT 5/5/09
The first in the series of the Ken/Len 10 Mile TT took place tonight. A very windy night with rain threatening at times kept the field down to nine riders. As in previous events David Thompson rode as though there was no wind to produce an outstanding ride of 23-31 to take the points. I managed to claw my way round in 24-10 followed by Mike Potter in 25-16

Seamer 25m TT 12/4/09 (Nov/Med)
9 starters this week were met with 9deg. C and very light winds from the SE ish area made this TT better than expected as the forecast was for much colder temps 4-5Deg. C. It was still chilly though and most riders wore arm warmers, and full gloves for me as I'm soft. Still if anyone takes the p*** look at the results, you'll all be ave'in um on next week.
Only Bazza went for the Medium gear so he wins that.

Bromton 10m TT 5/4/09
Sunny and a light wind from the west, but only 6deg. C made for a chilly opening round for this years TT racing. (Better than last year though - snowing)
11 Starters which I thought was better than usual for this time of the year, with a few 'big' names missing as well (you know who you are) 3 new names out as well Miss S Owen (NYP Tri) and Mike & Shane Prendergast. A very good time from Miss Owen with 28:12, Shane beat his Dad and also got under 30mins - Mike should get under 30mins next time as he was close with 30:19. Andy Browne had a good ride to come in second not far off his PB for this course.
